Path of Fire

Griffon

Fast aerial travel

The griffon is a high-speed flying mount for players who enjoy exploration and movement mastery. It begins with the completed Path of Fire story and the Open Skies collections.

Collection walkthrough

Your unlock path

1

Find the Sunspear Sanctuary

After finishing the story, reach Sunspear Sanctuary in the Domain of Vabbi and interact with the Remains of the Last Spearmarshal.

Start Open Skies

Accept the Open Skies collections. They send you through all five Crystal Desert maps for relics, eggs, events, and merchant items.

3

Finish the three collection stages

Complete Sunspear Sanctuary, Sunspear Wisdom, and On Wings and a Prayer to receive the griffon and its mastery track.

Full collection guide

Open Skies, step by step

1

Finish the Path of Fire story

The griffon route is not available until the Path of Fire finale is complete. Finish the story first so you can interact with the sanctuary objective and start the collections.

2

Reach Sunspear Sanctuary

Travel to the northern Domain of Vabbi and interact with the Remains of the Last Spearmarshal. Choose to help, then keep the Spearmarshal's Plea so you can return easily.

3

Complete Open Skies on every desert map

The first stage spans Crystal Oasis, Desert Highlands, Elon Riverlands, the Desolation, and Domain of Vabbi. Each map asks for exploration objectives, griffon eggs, and heart-vendor purchases.

4

Return to the sanctuary

Place the recovered eggs and finish the linked sanctuary objectives. Return to the Spearmarshal whenever a collection stage appears complete so the next objective can unlock.

5

Finish On Wings and a Prayer

Complete the final Open Skies stage to receive the Griffon. The 10 required heart-vendor purchases total 250 gold, so prepare that cost before the final stretch.

Flight school

Learn to fly the Griffon

Technique 1

Start from height

The griffon converts height into speed. Begin from a cliff, building, springer launch, or skyscale ascent so you have room to learn without crashing.

Technique 2

Dive, then boost early

Use the dive mount ability to gain momentum. When you have enough endurance, tap a wing flap early in the dive to build speed; using it too late usually leads to the ground.

Technique 3

Level out and preserve momentum

Release the dive once you have speed. The griffon will travel a long distance while slowly losing height, so avoid unnecessary turns and corrections.

Technique 4

Pull up, then repeat

Use the second mount ability to pull upward, then begin another controlled dive. Small dive-and-pull cycles are the core habit for sustained flight.

After the unlock

Make the most of your Griffon

Start from height and dive to gain speed
Use flaps to maintain altitude
Practice in open areas before difficult races

Field note · Start the collections before you have every gold purchase ready—the exploration steps take time and make the route feel less like a single cost.
