Combo fields reward coordination: one player creates a field and another uses a finisher through it.
Deep knowledge
Field manual
The red circles, cones, and lines beneath enemies are not decoration. They are telegraphs: the game is showing where danger will land. Moving out of the area is often better than using every defensive skill at once, because you keep your resources for the next attack.
Dodging grants a brief evade window, but endurance is limited. Dodge through an attack when movement alone cannot save you, then reset your position. Practice on a single enemy until you can identify the tell, move, and continue attacking without panic.
Field manual
Boons are temporary advantages shared by allies. Might improves outgoing damage, Fury helps critical hits, Quickness speeds actions, Alacrity improves recharge speed, and Stability protects against many control effects. You do not need to memorize every icon on day one; begin with the effects your profession gives or needs most.
Conditions are harmful effects such as burning, bleeding, poison, torment, confusion, cripple, chill, weakness, vulnerability, and fear. Some deal damage over time while others reduce movement or control your character. Bring a condition cleanse when possible, especially for difficult content.
Field manual
Some champions and bosses gain a blue bar beneath their health. This is a defiance bar, often called a breakbar. It is damaged by crowd control rather than normal damage: stuns, dazes, pulls, knockdowns, launches, fears, and similar skills.
Do not use every control skill randomly. Hold it for the blue bar unless the encounter calls for something else. A successful break usually interrupts a dangerous move and leaves the enemy vulnerable, which is the moment for the group to use its strongest damage skills.
Field manual
A combo starts when one player creates a field on the ground and another player uses a finisher through it. Fire fields, water fields, light fields, smoke fields, poison fields, and ethereal fields each create different effects.
You do not need to chase every combo. The practical habit is to notice colored ground fields and use blast, leap, whirl, or projectile finishers when the group is stacked together. This turns ordinary skills into extra healing, boons, or pressure.
